The Annual Spokane Scholars Foundation Banquet honors the top students from each of Spokane county's high schools in the academic disciplines of: English, World Languages, Fine Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science.  Students are  selected by their high school teachers and counselors; a student can only be selected in one discipline.  At the banquet, each student is individually introduced and receives a personalized Spokane Scholars medallion.  In addition, substantial cash grants are awarded to the top students in each academic category.

 

 

 

Criteria for Scholars Selection:

 

• Grades in selected discipline
  

• National test scores
  

• Letters of Recommendation
  

• Awards/Honors
  

• Overall grade point average

 

 

 

 

 

Spokane Scholars Foundation is a non-profit organization which relies on contributions from Spokane businesses and families. All funds contributed to Spokane Scholars Foundation are used for the banquet and the academic grants.  Each year the Foundation awards over $60,000 in grants to these special students. Everyone involved with Spokane Scholars is a volunteer, and speakers appear gratis.
