Scholar Selection

Students may not self-select; scholars are selected by their respective schools.

The Annual Spokane Scholars Foundation Banquet honors the top students from each of Spokane county's public and private high schools in the academic disciplines of English, Fine Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages,

Students are selected by their high school teachers and counselors guided by the specific criteria listed on this page.  A student may only be selected in one discipline. Students may not self-select. At the banquet, each student is individually introduced and receives a personalized Spokane Scholars medallion. In addition, substantial cash awards are provided to the top students in each academic category. 

 

 

Criteria for Scholars Selection

  • Grades in selected discipline

  • National test scores

  • Letters of recommendation

  • Awards/Honors

  • Overall grade point average
